Power Technology Associates, Inc. is currently conducting multiple Firmware Engineering search assignments for a manufacturer of utility scale equipment use in renewable energy products.
 
Inverter Firmware Engineer
Reporting directly to the Director of Power Systems Engineering this position will design build and maintain FPGA embedded software systems for the company’s power conversion and motor control products. You will be responsible for FPGA module design, coding, simulation and testing. You will work closely with algorithm design and software engineers on the FPGA DSP CPU interface. Candidates should have a BSEE/MSEE with emphasis in embedded software design and high seed digital circuit design. Five or more years of direct experience and strong knowledge of Xilinx ISE and familiarity with Spartan 3/3A/3AN FPGAs and on-chip debugging is desired.
 
DSP Firmware Engineer
Design DSP embedded software systems for power conversion products and lead cost-effective firmware development. As a member of a dynamic team, you will develop and implement innovative control algorithms for advanced power products. The successful candidate will interface with database, software teams to develop peripheral needs for firmware requirements. A BSEE/MSEE/Computer Science/ Physics is required coupled with power conversion or motor drive experience. We are looking for candidates with a versatility in software development with extensive experience designing and integrating embedded system applications. Skill set should include C++ and assembly language for DSP architectures. Experience with implementing closed-loop controls, PWM drive, ADC, DCA, SCDA is also desired.
 
Senior Linux Firmware Engineer
Successful candidate will architect and develop ARM base Linux hardware/firmware platforms. Working as a Linux system designer and Linux application software developer you will design, develop, test and maintain embedded architecture and firmware for data communication and equipment control. Our client would desire someone with 8+ years of experience with a solid background in product development to include design documentation, and software configuration management. A solid background in embedded platforms and experience with embedded Linux systems for ARM based processor would be ideal. A BSCS/ MSEE or equivalent experience is required. Company is well funded and a competitive salary and stock options are available.
