Job Summary Controls Engineer: 
Controls Engineer (Sr. Level) needed to play a key role for the advanced control strategy development and verification for advanced vehicle components which includes motors, drives, engines, generators, energy storage cells etc. In this position you will work with autonomous vehicle systems, advanced suspensions, material handling and other auxiliary equipment for on-road and off-road applications. This client, a developer of advanced vehicle and electronics systems, is experiencing a great deal of growth in their control systems group.

This client cannot sponsor H1B visas because of clearance issues.  Permanent Resident and US Citizen candidates only.

Responsibilities of the Controls Engineer:
  • Research, development, verification, validation, testing and production implementation for the advanced vehicle system controls.
  • Establish the requirements such as resources, equipment, estimates, test plans, and milestones as per the needs.
  • Development of control strategies in a virtual simulation environment using modeling tools like Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow, dSPACE software packages and LMS AMEsim etc.
  • Vehicle testing and eventual production implementation using hardware-in-the-loop simulators and transferring simulated strategies
  • Work with cross functional project teams internally and externally for advanced control development.
  • Provide support in feasibility studies and project estimates such as man power, budget development, timelines etc. on proposed projects.
  • Help in proposal development for acquiring appropriate funding for various advanced control development efforts.
  • Collaborate with engineering design teams as and when required 

Qualifications of the Controls Engineer:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Masters preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in similar environment
  • Experience in control systems development for Automotive / heavy duty vehicles is preferred.
  • Experience in automotive / heavy duty vehicle CAN bus and architecture is preferred
  • Background in hands-on development, including test stand set up and vehicle testing
  • Experience in embedded software development using C/C++ or Python will be a plus
  • Experience with Mathworks, dSPACE or Vector tools and AUTOSAR will be a plus

Compensation of the Controls Engineer:
$85,000 to $110,000 depending on experience
