Our client, a leading Designer of equipment used in the energy industry and has announced a fantastic new product that has taken the energy industry by storm and new orders have been above expectations. The market for this product has exploded. Consequently, they have commissioned Sterling St. James, LLC to source, screen and qualify candidates for their assembly operations. This Electrical Engineer will have broad responsibilities in the overall design and production of this new product.

OVERVIEW
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and modeling analog and digital circuits, assisting with firmware development, and debugging and testing the new hardware.  The Electrical Engineer will employ creative new approaches to launch products.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Understand the operating environment of the battery and use requirements
  • Define battery system requirements and derive battery management electronics requirements
    • Select components and develop battery management circuit schematics
    • Model and analyze circuit behavior
    • Design printed circuit board layouts and wiring diagrams
    • Work with vendors to understand and address manufacturing challenges
  • Develop firmware for the battery electronics
  • Verify via testing the circuits function as designed
    • Design embedded circuit test and calibration hardware
    • Assist in the demonstration and validation of the circuits in a battery system
  • Conduct fault analysis.
 
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Bachelors and or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
  • 2 plus years’ experience preferred.
  • Must be able to adapt and learn quickly
  • Familiarity with Altium or similar electronics design tools a plus.
  • Experience in programming and troubleshooting in C is a plus
  • Ability to define system requirements
  • Work independently or with a team
  • Must be a quick learner and have a desire to continue to learn new things
  • Always looking for ways to improve product and/or processes and procedures (continuous improvement)
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Good interpersonal skills (ability to get along well with team members and other departments) Ability to interact with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results and to resolve problems as they arise.
 
Travel is expected to be less than 25% of the time and may include international travel.
