Reporting to the company President, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for oversight of the Engineering team and ensure that project requests are handled in a prompt and effective manner. This is a very hands-on position that will work closely with customers, operations and other plant functions to ensure that proper design specifications and testing procedures are performed. The Engineering Manager will monitor compliance with established standards and be responsible for problem resolution.
The Engineering Manager:
Must be able to handle multiple projects and tasks, from product inception through product launch and maintenance.
Will play an active role in the process to ensure products meet quality standards consistent with customer design specifications and various regulatory requirements.
Will initiate corrective and preventive actions, with an eye to increased capability and customer satisfaction.
Will work with Quality to ensure that certain foreign suppliers have established systems and procedures compatible with the Company’s standards.
The ideal candidate would have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in engineering. Six Sigma certification or training would be desirable. Experience in a manufacturing environment and a demonstrated track record of managing multiple projects is important. The ability to communicate with the management team, employees, suppliers and key customers is also necessary. This will require some limited overseas travel, but nothing extensive.
