Job Summary of the Lead Instrumentation Technician:
Lead Instrumentation Technician is needed to play a key role in the management of vehicle and HiL instrumentation for one of our clients, well known for their services globally and  a tier one automotive supplier across the globe. You will "own" the instrumentation aspect of all these projects.  This is a company that provides long-term stability and the opportunity to work on exciting, emerging technologies. In this role you will be responsible for supporting vehicle builds with wiring harnesses and needed instrumentation. If you have hands on experience working on PCB development along with building wiring harnesses, then this opportunity is well suited to you.


Responsibilities of the Lead Instrumentation Technician:
  • Inventory management for all types of Test equipment including HIL lab.
  • Maintain calibration records for Location/vehicle and Instrument vehicles.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and vehicle build issues.
  • Build wiring harness’ for vehicle builds.
  • Help in HIL lab fixtures/builds/repairs/instrumentation
  • Research new measurement methods
  • Specify and purchase new instrumentation.
  • Work wit other teams as and when required and train/guide younger Electrical Technicians

Qualifications of the Lead Instrumentation Technician:
  • Associate Degree in Electronics  or Electrical  or Computer
  • 2+ years of experience in instrumentation development for an automotive/vehicle lab.
  • Some experience working with CAN bus.
  • Good background working in engineering support on technology development.
  • Any knowledge of metrology is a plus.
  • Solid communication skills and a proven ability to work between multiple teams.

Compensation of the Lead Instrumentation Technician:
Salary Range:  $26-34/hr., depending on experience

Type:  Direct
Location:  Farmington, MI
Travel: As and when required (1-2 Week per year)
