Our client has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer who wants to join a successful manufacturing and distribution company with a long track record of success. Reporting to the Operations Manager and working closely with the Engineering Manager, this individual will be a member of a team responsible for supporting all aspects of manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on position that will work closely with manufacturing personnel and engineering in developing and improving the manufacturing process by studying product and manufacturing methods; maximizing work flow and spatial utilization; and creating practical solutions that improve efficiency, quality and safety throughout the facility.
Must be able to handle multiple projects and tasks, from inception through final implementation.
Must be a team player and good problem solver with the ability to identify and meet deadlines.
Will work with production personnel to solve existing manufacturing problem and establish effective, efficient work flow.
Utilize Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing techniques to eliminate waste; measure process improvements; and enhance overall quality and production efficiencies.
Other duties include conducting 6S reviews and determining manufacturing equipment capabilities.
Ideal candidate would have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and a minimum of 5 years’ manufacturing and quality control engineering experience. Automotive industry a plus. New product line start-up experience. Solid understanding of safety standards; OSHA regulations; and environmental obligations. Competent Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
