Tasks and responsibilities: Recruit and manage a team of digital engineers focused on development of embedded system ASICs and peripheral devices. Drive digital design, integration, verification and validation process flow and corresponding tool selection. Manage selection and integration of externally developed IP. Develop digital system analysis tools / aids for internal and external use. Undertake open-ended design projects based on marketing and customer input. Create customer-facing digital architectural and circuit presentations and training materials. Ensure timely status reports on projects. Support existing projects. Meeting customers on and off site as required. Provide technical leadership, in supporting full product lifecycle from initial concept through to product development into production ramp. Responsible for detailed requirements and guide architecture definition. Contribute to architecture evolution in line with future product requirements. Help build differentiated roadmap in conjunction with marketing Required Experience: 10 or more years of experience in design / development of digital ASICs. Experience leading embedded ASIC development team. Experience in specifying, procuring and integrating externally developed processor and digital IP. Ability to create detailed written specifications of complex circuits and systems. Ability to explain complex design concepts at various levels of detail for different audiences. Creativity and Analysis skills with ability to research and devise new circuits and architectures. Excellent problem solving and debugging skills Desirable Experience: Capacitive Touch sensing experience. Excellent written and communication skills. Ability to work effectively within a geographically distributed, cross-functional team organization. Our client, a leading developer of fingerprint sensor devices, is building an ASIC Development site in Rochester, NY and is seeking an experienced Digital ASIC leader to architect and manage the development of state-of-the-art embedded systems for fingerprint sensing functions. As Principal Digital Architect, you will report to the Vice President, ASIC Development and manage the site digital architecture and design activity. You will work closely with colleagues in the ASIC Development organization as well as with the R&D, System Engineering and Sensor Development teams to deliver high-volume products based on cutting-edge sensor technologies into Mobile, Smart Card and IoT markets.
