Our client provides process controlled technical expertise and resources to support the power utility industry.  Their capabilities include business as usual maintenance functions, facility upgrades, property acquisition and easement, right of way permitting, low voltage distribution design, make-ready, and records and asset management for all network structures - aerial, buried and underground. Due to growth they are adding a P.E. who will act as a focal point for the customer on the project. 
This person will serve as both a technical resource and practice leader. The primary role of this individual is to interpret electrical design requirements and design electrical systems by applying standard principles and practices. This person will also be expected to oversee production of a design team and recommend alterations and enhancements to improve quality of both products and/or procedures. 

The Engineer/P.E. is responsible for:
  • Performing electrical engineering design, review, approval and project management of overhead and underground electric systems per client specifications
  • Supervising and mentoring engineering staff as required to accomplish goals
  • Promoting and representing the company in personal contacts and presentations to customers, management, staff, government authorities and other interested parties.
  • Creating cost estimates, specifications for materials and services and written reports as needed
  • Researching and applying new materials, methods, techniques, and technologies to expand and improve the efficiency, reliability, safety, and quality of company and Client systems
  • Responsibilities may be revised from time to time based on business needs
  • MUST have Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering OR technical engineering degree with demonstrated experience in distribution design (both LVD and HVD) within the power utility industry
  • Experience in Transmission and/or Substation design a plus
  • MUST have Professional Engineering (P.E.) license in Ohio or Michigan, Indiana and/or Kentucky a plus.
  • MUST have demonstrated either project management or consultant engineering experience; consulting engineering experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with AISC, ANSI, ASTM & ASCE Standards and National Electrical Safety Code
  • Current computer skills and familiarity with CAD, preferably Micro Station and AutoCAD
