This individual will be responsible for leading a team spread across multiple locations and countries. Working with technical leads to implement and maintain advanced validation methodologies and lead projects with varying environments, microcontroller cores, peripheral sets, and target application uses. Our wireless solutions group implements a variety of embedded peripherals and cores ranging from ARM, MIPS, and 8051 to dedicated Co-Application processors and DSPs. We also work within a variety of wireless technologies like Bluetooth, WiFi, Zigbee, Lora, etc.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work with Silicon development, pre-silicon verification, architecture, applications, and product/test teams to understand SOC macro system requirements, Wireless Module requirements, then develop comprehensive SOC and macro (peripheral) level validation plans. The candidate must manage multiple project pipelines and allocating resources accordingly. Assist in determining resource requirements, such as staffing levels, licenses, tools/equipment, lab management, equipment budgeting, calibration cycles, vendor negotiations/contracts, and other resources or assets available to the candidate.
Technical contributions will include helping define and develop test benches, test suite architecture and environment. Requirements development, scheduling and process flows, and to automated test case regressions to ensure code stability and compatibility over multiple projects. In addition to effective management of our code base and plans; the candidate must possess a strong knowledge of C, Python, LabVIEW, and Test Stand knowledge. Other scripting languages, automation, and user-level experience is a plus.
The candidate should be well versed in:
  • Requirements development
  • Macro and SOC-level Validation
  • Embedded C Programming & Lab Equipment Automation
  • Able to develop effective functional test cases, coverage analysis and requirement traceability
  • Develop sound structural and functional code at both the macro and system level test suites
  • Develop scripts to automate validation process & analysis
  • Provide guidance and support during validation development activities for all team members
  • Guide development of PCBs for Validation Hardware and Emulation Platforms
  • Work well within a cross functional team of varying skillsets.
  • Provide feedback and review of validation activities across the WSG division
  • Define and develop validation process improvements and methodologies as part of continuous improvement
  • Support debug silicon issues & assist in pre-silicon root causing
  • Support sustaining efforts from incoming field, internal, and other customer requests
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 12 years' industry experience. MSEE preferred.
Good understanding of Microcontroller architecture and products.
Expertise in C programming, Python, LabView, and TestStand.
Pre-silicon experience with Verilog, System Verilog is preferred.
Other scripting language knowledge: PERL/TCL is a plus.
Expertise in digital and analog validation, Lab equipment usage and bench automation is required.
Expertise in Macro level and System level validation is required.
Expertise in writing reusable C-based validation code and test bench architecture is required.
 Knowledge of Makefile development for build time configurability of code is a plus.
Very good understanding of Object Oriented Programming concepts is preferred.
Able to write tests Assembly code to verify certain specific SoC functionality.
Able to define validation process documentation, Flows and Review validation processes.
Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as hands-on SoC debugging and bring-up skills is required.
Able to set team goals and work consistently towards achieving them.
