The Senior PCB Design Engineer is responsible for Printed Circuit Board design and layout functions as required by product development teams. Using high-end PCB CAD tools and following established industry guidelines for signal integrity, reliability, and manufacturability, this individual will assist other engineers in the development of complex designs for use in demanding environments. This role includes duties in PCB design, layout, validation, process, and support, and requires a person with significant technical background, relevant experience, and excellent communication skills. Candidate must be able to work as a team member with minimal supervision under direction of a lead engineer.
Detailed development and documentation of complex printed circuit boards conforming to applicable IPC and industry standards.
Provide guidance to internal and third party engineers as needed to optimize the design with respect to PCB layout, including constraints, manufacturability, and relative costs of various alternatives.
Work from preliminary schematics, parts lists, and basic functional description as provided by the design team.
Complete placement and layout of PCB designs using Cadence Allegro PCB Editor v17.2. Perform other E-CAD functions including schematic capture, mechanical footprints, parts library management, and board revisions as needed.
Assist with system management including file maintenance, backup, and storage.
Generate all documentation required for release and production of PCB designs (ODB++.) Interface with Contract Manufacturers, PCB vendors, and others as needed to resolve technical issues.
Assist with maintaining departmental procedures, standards, and guidelines.
