Position Summary
The Technical Architect is responsible for the data architecture of our internal enterprise applications, their integration, the data warehouse and it’s analytics capabilities. This role works to analyze current states and then designs/develops future state implementations. This individual must have a broad knowledge of data ingestion, processing, modeling and visualizations patterns. The role must have implementation experience with data platform in the cloud and on-premise environments. This individual mentors technical resources and is also responsible for hands on development of the data platform.
Responsibilities
  • Establish and drive internal enterprise application’s data architecture for application integration, master data management, business Intelligence and analytics
  • Contribute to IT Roadmap by conceptualizing current to future state technology enablers to meet business objectives
  • Ensure technical delivery of detailed feature/story level solutions that satisfies the IT roadmap’s acceptance criteria
  • Facilitate the design of a micro service oriented data integration architecture that enables application and analytics functions
  • Drives the hardening of system data interfaces, reduces errors, improves scalability and security
  • Establish a cloud-based data platform to enable Business Intelligence and Analytics functions using modern, proven and secure technologies that enable business self service
  • Institute monitoring operations for data processes and data quality
  • Drive solutions for meta data and data lineage management
  • Mentor technical resources and ensure delivery on key initiatives
  • Drive innovation by recommending and driving adoption of new technologies that provide competitive data advantages for enterprise
  • Contributes to agile team alignment and is committed to constant improvement efforts by participating in team ceremonies sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog grooming and retrospectives
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Minimum Work Experience
  • 7+ years of proven experience in the design, development and deployment of end-to-end data architectures including data platform, data workflow, data processing (Batch, Micro-Batch, Streaming) and data visualizations
  • 7+ years of proven experience in the design, development and deployment of Enterprise Data Warehouse models and Business Intelligence Solutions (OLAP, Dimensional, MPP) that source data from CRM and ERP systems
  • 2+ years of
(AWS: S3, EMR,    Redshift, Aurora, Kinesis, Glue, Amazon CLI) implementing data programs/services within cloud solution providers (AWS or Azure)
(Azure: Stream Insights, Azure Data Warehouse, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Power BI, and SQL Server)
  • Strong grasp of master data management, data quality monitoring and metadata management
  • Proven experience designing complex integrations to support APIs and micro services based approach
  • Proficiency in data centric shell scripting, ETL, Python, and/or .NET Programming skills
  • A comfortable and confident communicator with technical staff but also able to speak with customers concisely to translate technical concepts into business terminology and impacts
  • Exposure to continuous integration implementations that utilize DevOps style tools (such as Jenkins, Chef, Docker, Terraform, etc.)
  • Proven team player with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic agile work environment
  • Supported a metrics-driven data culture to drive accountability and transparency
  • Passionate problem solver and motivated self-starter including ability to analyze situation and recommend sound solutions and implementation strategies
Additional Desired Skills:
  • Technology certifications such as Amazon Certified Solutions Architect
  • Experience with Graph and NoSQL Database technologies
  • Proficiency in programming in Spark, R and/or ML packages
  • Exposure to applications developed to support manufacturing quality
  • Experience with MS Dynamics CRM, MicroStrategy BI tools, SAP ERP
  • Consulting experience
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or combination of education and experience.
