Senior Electrical Engineer
Thornton Tomasetti, Inc., an international leader in building design and performance, seeks an experienced senior level Electrical Engineer for its Newark, NJ office.
Description:
This is a hands-on senior level position. This individual will be expected to be able to review existing conditions, prepare reports, prepare remedial designs, and provide direction to electrical design engineers, project engineers and project managers.
The candidate’s experience should include a blend of design and investigative reports for a broad range of electrical systems such as site distribution, power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, emergency power generation, cogeneration, UPS, and mission critical systems for industrial, commercial and hospitality buildings.
Responsibilities:
- Interface with clients and attend meetings
- Assist in the preparation of proposals
- Lead investigations and remedial designs for low voltage and medium voltage electrical distribution systems
- Perform required calculations, design and equipment selections
- Prepare field notes, feasibility studies, cost analyses, and specifications
- Work with a multi-discipline team of design professionals
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years design and investigative experience
- P.E. license
- Proficient in both manual and software assisted calculations (including, but not limited to fault current analyses)
